Fearless Living = New Action
It’s true! Fearless living equals new action. New action means doing something out of the norm and living outside of your comfort zone. When we live outside of our comfort zone we begin to see our inner strength and wow ourselves with our newfound abilities. Our self-esteem and self-efficacy increases as we do the things we thought we could never do or were too afraid to do. So here are three friendly reminders to help you on journey of fearless living…
This means seize the day or simply to live in the present and give little thought to the future. Fearless living is all about not allowing fear to keep us from reaching our fullest potential, self-actualization, and living the life we want to live. In order to do this, we must take one day at a time and make the most of that day. Make sure to include balance – work hard and equally play hard. The pastor of my home church always had us affirm at the beginning of every service, “Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery but today is a gift from God.” Make the most of this gift.
Shut down the negative committee in your mind!
Listen Linda, Listen! We are not perfect beings. We are going to make mistakes. We are going to fall. We are going to fail. We are going to feel hurt. Don’t allow your mind to bombard you with negative junk. Instead focus on the lessons from those challenges and move forward. After all, that mistake, fall, fail and hurt were supposed to happen. It’s equipping you for your destiny. It’s giving you the strength, wisdom and transformation you need to be the best you that you can be. It’s going to be alright!
Give Up Your Need for Approval!
One of the biggest struggles people have with taking action to live fearlessly is the fear of being judged. They are so focused on what this and that person is going to think of them that they lose sight of what they believe and want for themselves. Don’t let anyone steal your joy – your dream – your motivation – your vision! Don’t get stuck in other people’s fear. Don’t get stuck, refuse to take action and complain about why life’s not working for you. Stop the sob story! Take action! This is your life. Validate yourself. Love yourself. Believe in yourself. Be good to yourself.
