Have you ever felt your life is too complex? You have school,work, family, activities you committed to, friends and engagements coming up. Lets face it we can’t do it all. Or do you have so much going on at home and work that life is getting hectic? Are you feeling stressed or overwhelmed maybe even both? I know this feeling bestie. I know we talk about the joy of tapping into your inner power to live fearlessly. Its sounds great right but HOW could you possible be fearless when you have so much going on right now. Besties I get it and Im glad your reading this to find out what you can do to begin your journey. If this is you, its time to start simplifying your life to even begin starting to live the life YOU want. One where you dont let the power of fear hold you back and you let your passion and purpose guide you.
Here are 3 tips to simplify your life
1) Remove the things that don’t matter.
If you find yourself worrying or stressing out constantly. Its time to rethink about what your doing in your live. What is causing you to be stress? Now, is this something that can be removed? Im not just talking about objects either. I know you are able to remove some people that do not belong in your life right now. You know the saying,
Some people are hear for a reason and a season.
I want you to know its ok you don’t have to keep the same people around who aren’t moving in the direction your moving into. When life becomes complex, we sometimes get so focused on what others think on what we should or what were supposed to do that you forget about the most important person: you. Remove the physical clutter (papers, and items) and mental clutter ( stress and overwhelming feelings) and begin removing things/people one by one to begin simplyfing your life.
2) Find out your highest priority
Once you finish decluttering, find out what is your highest priority and focus on that. Our mind can easily focus on a million problems. (Ex:Im stressed i need a vacation. My friend is annoying me, how do I tell them) Find out what are your two highest priorities and have the courage to say no to any other thing in your life. (i.e If you want to be healthy then you have to cut out eating out with friends. If your feeling overly stressed cut out the other nonsense items and focus on yourself (i.e meditation or yoga) until you save the money for a vacation. I know it might be hard to pick two when you have tons of things that need to get done. Trust me I get it but If you have only two tasks on your to do list everyday there are higher chances it will get done versus the ten.
3) Practice Mindfulness
Mindfulness is focusing on the present and whats currently happening right now. We tend to focus more on the past and future that we forget what’s happening right now. Mindfulness helps empty brain space that was cluttered from superficial concerns. Instead of worrying how stressed you were yesterday or tomorrow. In this present moment focus what are you doing? What are you thankful for? Being in the present moment helps with simplifying and enjoying life.
