Can you believe that it is already less than a week until Christmas!! As I been trying to get everything together for the holidays with the crazy packed lines, trying to make sure I get everything on everybody’s list and closing out this year. I completely forgot what I will be doing with my hair for the holidays. Yikes!! I know for me when I wait until the last minute I end up with one of my simple styles which your welcome to check out here. However, this time I want to step away from the simple styles for a bit for something a little more formal and unique. Are hair is too versatile and amazing to not leave this year with a stylish bang. It’s now time to start thinking about what holiday updo are you going to be rockin? I love an updo for the holidays especially during the winter when our hair needs to be protected but of course look fly in the process. Here are the top 5 holiday styles I’m feeling right now. You know you have to let me know which one is your favorite below!
- Romantic updo
Natalie’s romantic updo will be sure to get some attention. This look was a lot of tucks, pins and twists. Natalie recommends to do this look from a textured style such as a twist out or bantu knot out. In the middle of the hair she did a loose French braid. In the back, she did a fabulous tuck and pin while in the front she did a cute bang style to pull this perfect look together. Feel free to add an accessory at the end to really make this look stand out.
2) Curly Bang & Bun
I thought this style would be super cute a curly bang with a bun. Tia used a curling wand for her bang to get this super fly style. She recommends doing this style from already stretched hair to get the best results. Once you leave the part out for your bang put the rest of your hair in a bun. When you have your bun the way you like. Next, you can go to the bang section where you take small sections, start to detangle then begin to place each section within the curl wand. If you need a reminder on how to get the best detangle method you can find that here. If your bang is to long make sure to follow tia’s technique to push the bang back some with a boppy pin underneath the hair to get it off your face. Once the bang is placed the way you like begin to slowly pull the curls apart to get more volume.
3) Twist Front with Back Out
Gina did this cute style to represent the short naturalistas but this can be done on any length. She made different parts, put gel on each section then began twisting. Once she got to the end she boppy pinned them then two strand twist the rest of the section Once she finished with the front section, Gina two strand twist the entire section to get a twist out in the back. This is such a different style and the best part I love about this is you can add a cute headband to put this look all together.
4) Pin Up with a Flat Twist Out
Chary Jay did a flat twist out look that will be sure to give you compliments during this festive season. She did flat twist all throughout her hair and curled the ends on each. She showed two cute styles at the end that will be sure to turn heads.
5) Pin Curl Updo
TJ did the cutest formal updo using pin curls in three different section. I love how she placed each pin curl all together in different directions but it ends up coming all together at the end. She gives examples on how to pin curl each section but feel free to get creative on how you can make this fabulous look work for you.
I don’t want to see you leave 2015 with the same style you did everyday this year. Try something new
Which one would you try for this season?
