July has been killing me with this heat. I’ve been trying to keep up with my wash n’ gos but sometimes it feels like I’m having a straight hot flash when my hair is out in this heat. Yes, I’m too young for that, but if I can imagine what it would feel like then now would be the time when it’s 90 degrees outside and my thick hair is on my neck. Anyway, when the heat comes, I don’t want my hair anywhere near my neck. I checked out youtube for the next hairstyle I can do. I looked at this video for some inspiration which turned into my stylespiration. My hair isn’t like hers below since I used twists and went with a different direction. Even so, I loved how 4adaniels did her hair and wanted to add my own little touch to it.
- Part your hair halfway from the right to left side. Clip the front because you’re going to start with the back.
- In the back, begin to part your hair down the middle and then on 4 sections on each side. Flat twist each section so that all your hanging twists are in the middle. Once you complete all sections, roll them up like you would with French twists. Once you get to the top, make a small bun by twisting your hair and rolling it up into a bun.
- In the top half, I made medium size twists all over. Once I completed the twists, I made two sections on my right side, twisted them halfway then bobby pinned each one so that my hair hung over to the left. I placed bantu knots on each medium twist and left them to set overnight so I had a little bit of a curl by the morning.
