Wash N Go on beautiful kinky tresses doesn’t have to be as difficult as it might seem. One thing drives me crazy about Wash N’ Go’s is having to worry about the tangled mess that happens after my wash n go has completed it’s course. BUT there’s great news, your hair doesn’t have to be a tangled mess with a wash n go anymore even with kinkier textures!! Are you excited I know I’m excited about even thinking about it. The process people forget is taking care of the wash n’ go daily. Even though your wash n go style is done you have to make time for your wash n go at night as well.

Taking care of your wash n’ go with a water spritz at night can lessen your tresses in becoming overly dry. My personal wash n go method you can find here that makes my hair pop with definition. Nonetheless, there’s 3 important factors when it comes to the wash n go with thicker textures especially beautiful kinkier textures.
1) Placing your product on soaking wet hair: I can not stress this enough placing a product under soaking wet hair helps for the gel/creme to lock in your curl definition and moisture.
2) Focusing on your ends and the roots: As you will see in the video below focusing on the ends is vital since it’s the oldest part of your hair so it needs the most moisture. Place your product on the ends first then begin to move up the hair shaft. Adding the extra product on the roots if you want to decrease the amount of what I like to call “poofiness” on the roots.
3) Having the right product: The “right” product helps determine whether your hair is going to be moisturized or dry and knotted. You can use a gel, creme or both. NappyFu below used the TGIN twist and define creme with her tresses. My personal favorites are my staples Camille Rose Curl Maker Moisture Milk and Camille Rose Natural Curl Maker.
4) Applying a Braid or Twists once product is in your hair
Once the product is in placing 1-4 braids or twists helps to elongate your coils. Once your hair is about 90% dry, fluff with your hands or afro pick.
