Are you going through the storm right now? Do you feel defeated, hopeless, frustrated, or depressed? Are you having a hard time believing things will get better? Well this empowerment wednesday message is for you. If you’ve been following us for awhile you know I (Bianca) have a love for music especially motivational songs. There’s a quote that reads, “When words fail, music speaks.” This is so true for me. Inspirational music has a way of transforming my mood, helping me to look at things from a different perspective, and putting me in a good mental space to receive the message God has for me. In the post, How this one song changed my perspective (1-2-Jump) I shared a song by Avery Sunshine that empowered me to be an active participant in the change I wanted to see in my personal life instead of complaining and waiting around for things to change for me or around me. Yes ma’am…I got all of that from one song. Definitely check out that post for an added dose of “get yo’ life!” *Smile*
Anyhow, right now there’s a song that just does my spirit so much good – It’s Alright, It’s Ok by Shirley Caesar and Anthony Hamilton. I’ve cried; I’ve smiled; and I’ve been full of gratitude while singing along to this song. I remember the very first time I heard this song, I was “balling” y’all. I can’t remember what I was going through at that moment but this song was like the breakthrough that I needed and had been waiting on for awhile. It just reminded me that God is with me and because I have Him, I was going to be ok. He is always working things out for my good (another great song), so I should stop the pity party and start praising Him now for what’s to come. Like I said before, I believe God speaks to me through music because I ALWAYS seem to hear the right song at the right time. If you haven’t heard this song yet, check it out below.
*Lifts hands* Yesss!!!! All I want you to get from this empowerment wednesday is that you are going to alright. You’re going to be ok. Keep holding on to your faith and don’t ever let it go. You have power over your fears. You have power over your insecurities; your doubts; your negative thought patterns; your negative mood; and whatever else you’re going through. Brighter days are coming sooner rather than later. I’m believing that for you. Just believe, have faith, and do what you can to make things better for you. I tell my clients the most profound things sometimes that’s not only a message for them, but for me. And one of my profound statements is…STOP focusing on things you have no control over. Seriously, STOP! FOCUS your time and energy on things you can control and believe God will work out the rest. Remember….
“It’s alright, it’s O.k
Don’t you let your troubles get in the way
Just believe and have faith
Know that He’s with you every day” Shirley Caesar & Anthony Hamilton
