Have you ever looked in the mirror and thinking what am I going to do with this? I’m tired of this look maybe I should cut it? I can’t deal with this I’m going to relax my hair again.
Pause. Let’s think about this. What is making you frustrated? Is it your hair or your life?
Sometimes we need to analyze and assess what is going on.
If it’s your life, talk with a friend or your nearest counselor to get it together. But if it’s your hair I can help you with that.
Top 3 things to do before you touch that relaxer or go to those scissors.
Sometimes, when we get frustrated we automatically want to do something drastic scissors or relax.
Now, I’m not saying that is at all a bad thing luckily our hair can transform like that. Here are 3 things you should try before going to those scissors.
Color: I have been seeing all these beautiful colors lately that can easily brighten or freshen up your look for the season. Try something bold like a blue or pastel or something more modest such as a brown or highlights.
Protective style: I know I have been trying to where my hair out more but on some days doing the work to get there is for the birds. I don’t feel like doing nothing. On these days, I know it’s time for a protective style for me it could be something simple like a halo braid or even two strand twists I can just wear for the week. Of course, you got to moisturize in between but it beats having to worry about tangles when wash day hits.
Weave/Wig: A new look might be the only thing that you need. How simple then to plop something on your head and look like a new women. OK, plop might not be the right word for it but you know what I mean. Or even having a weave where it can last longer without having to take it out your hair at night.
