As women, confidence and high self-esteem do not always come as easily as we’d like especially since we are pretty much born with responsibilities. From day one we are expected to be nurturers, taking care of everyone around us. The path we are projected to walk sometimes becomes cumbersome as we juggle the roles of wives, professionals, mothers, sisters, friends, and heroines often times all wrapped up into one beautiful package. And we do an incredibly amazing job of being all of that and more on a regular basis all while trying to hold our heads up confidently.
It is not always easy to maintain that high self-esteem. Life can throw a curve ball completely knocking you off your feet at any time leaving you in a state of confusion. Unfortunately, that confusion can really damage the way we view ourselves, and ultimately the way we love ourselves. It may seem impossible to regain confidence after it’s lost, but it’s not and you can do it in a few easy steps.
Step 1: Remind yourself you’re a queen.
You can begin by simply saying to yourself “I’m a queen” while you’re getting ready for your day. There is so much power in your words so always speak life. Positive self-talk is a definite way to increase confidence and self-esteem. You have to be your own biggest fan.
Step 2: Carry yourself as a queen.
When you start to respect yourself as a woman, many things can change. We sometimes sacrifice our self-respect to please others and ultimately lose ourselves. The good news is there’s a simple solution to undo this damage; Hold yourself and your self-respect to a higher standard. After you start seeing yourself as a queen and you begin walking that path, you’ll no longer feel obligated to entertain things (or people) who don’t serve you or your purpose. When you carry yourself as a queen, everyone else is forced to respect you as such.
Step 3: Clean out your palace.
Finally, it’s time to rid yourself and your palace of anything toxic. Look at what caused the decrease in confidence in the first place. Whether it was a person you’re dating, a job, a friend, knowing when to enter a pruning season is very important. We’ve always heard “misery loves company” and that couldn’t be truer. Separate yourself from anything that constantly brings you down, disrespects you, or lowers your self-esteem. Queens do not have time to be surrounded by negative energy so rid yourself of it and reign on.
No matter what lemons life gives you, you always have the power to turn them into the sweetest lemonade. We were born strong fighters with talents and abilities far greater than we give ourselves credit for. So we can continue to handle multiple demanding roles and do an extremely astounding job of managing our responsibilities all while wearing our invisible crowns.
