Let’s be real…we’re busy. As women we wear many hats such as; wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, employee and/or entrepreneur, and the list goes on. Thus, we just don’t have 30min to an hour to do our hair every day. When we style our hair we often aim to get the most out of that style until the next wash day (which is typically once per week).
A trick that I have learned to get the most out of my twist outs is to retwist my hair every night. No, this does not mean pull out the spray bottle, comb, more product and retwist your entire head. No! When my hair is in a twist out before I go to bed I simply take BIG sections of my hair and twist them (approximately 6 big twists). Afterwards, I stretch my hair by pinning the twists on the right side of my head to the left and vice versa. This is a really good technique for seeing more of your length without using heat. This process only takes me about 5 minutes every night. Yes, FIVE minutes! I know…this is amazing!
Give it a try. With this process I’m able to make my twist outs last 5-6 days just in time for the next wash day and/or the next thorough restyling. (Thorough restyling as in wetting your hair, combing it and retwisting or whatever your next style will be). This technique is EPIC! I’m able to maintain twist definition and length 4-5 days. Don’t knock it ’til you try it.
